Frequently Asked Questions

Starting something new can bring up questions. Below are answers to some of the things people commonly ask about coaching, how I work, and what to expect.

What can I expect from a coaching session?

Coaching sessions are a space to pause, reflect and explore what matters most to you.

You might come with something specific, or a more general sense of feeling stuck, uncertain or overwhelmed. We’ll work at your pace, with a focus on building insight, perspective and practical ways forward.

As a psychologist, I draw on evidence‑based approaches — while keeping the work grounded, supportive and tailored to you.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies for each person.

Some people find a small number of sessions helpful for working through a specific focus, while others choose to continue over a longer period for deeper reflection and change.

We’ll regularly check in together to ensure the work feels meaningful, relevant, and aligned with what you’re hoping for.

Is coaching done online effective?

Yes — many people find online sessions to be both effective and convenient.

Meeting online allows you to access support from the comfort of your own space, without travel or time pressures. With a stable connection and a quiet environment, it can feel just as engaged and focused as meeting in person.

Who do you work with?

Willow Coaching works with adults who are navigating change, uncertainty, self-doubt, difficult decisions, life transitions, or a sense that something isn’t quite right.

Common areas of focus include:

  • stress, overwhelm and difficulty finding balance

  • life transitions and identity shifts

  • confidence and self‑doubt

  • relationships and boundaries

  • navigating complex personal or professional decisions

The focus of this practice is coaching rather than therapy, with an emphasis on insight, growth and moving forward in a way that feels grounded and sustainable.

Is what I share confidential?

Yes — your privacy is taken seriously.

What you share in sessions is treated as confidential. As a registered psychologist, I am also guided by professional and legal obligations.

There are some limited situations where confidentiality may need to be broken — for example, if there is a serious risk to your safety or the safety of others, or where required by law. If relevant, this will always be explained clearly.

For more detail, you are welcome to review the Privacy Policy.

How do I get started?

You’re welcome to get in touch via the Contact page to arrange an initial free, no-obligation conversation.

If it feels like a good fit, we can schedule your first session from there.

The first session is an opportunity to clarify what you’re looking for, talk through how I work, and begin to explore what might be most helpful for you.
